Signs of hope in the Israeli/Lebanese conflict? Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Flag of the Hezbollah groupThere are indications coming out that the parties involved are beginning to relax their positions and rhetoric, perhaps showing showing some hesitation in letting the situation blow out to an all out regional war.

The first indication would be Iran stopping about 200 students from traveling outside Iran and joining the fighting against the Israelis. It could be a sign that they are trying to limit their exposure and involvement in the conflict. It’s difficult to say exactly, but it’s unlikely to be a bad thing .

Hezbollah sleeper cells Monday, July 24th, 2006

The Jerusalem Post is claiming to have information that Hezbollah sleeper cells are being put on standby. Quote:

Previously, it has been speculated that there are Hezbollah sleeper cells in the US.

Israeli ship was hit by Iranian made missile Saturday, July 15th, 2006

iran c-801 missileIt seems our previous report about an Israeli ship being hit by a UAV was inaccurate, with a member of the Israeli Military stating that it was actually an Iranian made C-802 Land-to-Sea missile. The turbojet missile has a range of around 100km.

Obviously at times of war information from leaked - or official - sources must be treated with some suspicion, as there may be political and strategic goals behind it. However, if this is true it may be a foreshadowing of a larger conflict to come.
